Sunset silhouette (Yarra's Edge, 2012)
The sunset silhouette. Building I photographed in Yarra's Edge in Docklands Melbourne. Shot during summer in twilight, Australia has one of the most beautiful sunsets ever. Shot with the Canon 60D with the 24-105mm lens.
One of my more favourite photographs.
Print can be bought here
Best,
Elyas

The Right To Brand by Yasmin Merican
The Right to Brand launch video
The Right to Brand is a newly launched branding book by Yasmin Merican, South East Asia's first female brand strategist. Now nicknamed "the black book of branding", it examines various case studies in Malaysia, and how some brands evolve into the powerhouses that they are today (I shan't say more - just buy it!). A brilliantly crafted book that cannot be compared to the brilliance of its content. And coming from an advertising background, I honestly recommend this. I just wished I had this when I did my Masters. Hahaha.
Enough honest plugging - the reason for promoting this book is due to the fact that I had the honour of photographing the author's photograph (at the back of the cover) and subsequently event itself, and would like to share with you some of them. Truly honoured to have worked on this project.
For more information regarding the book and author, please visit www.trax.com.my. Online purchases can be made via PayPal. If you are in Malaysia however, it is available in all good bookstores (MPH, Times, Borders and Kinokuniya)
See you next post!
Best,
E.

When A City Stays Up All Night (White Night Melbourne 2013)
Hi there,
Quick post - Am busy editing a client's family portraits. Hopefully I have permission to post some over here. Will let you know :)
However, I did promise some White Night Melbourne pictures. I have edited most of them - Just don't seem to have the time to write my post out yet.
For the time being, here's one of them - A shot of Flinder's Street Station in all its glory. Dubbed Wonderland by the organisers, it was beautifully transformed into a stage where we were treated to performances from 7pm to 6am. Brilliant stuff. Plus Cat Empire performed, which just sweetened the deal for me.
Hats off to Electric Canvas for the beautiful light projections on all the buildings. By far the best night organised by a city that I've experienced.
Best,
E.

From my window.
Am guilty for not posting enough over here. Still working out the kinks how I would like everything to be displayed. (What with Facebook, Pinterest and this blog itself)
So, for an updated feed of my pictures, just add me over on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/elyas.e (subscribe/add as a friend, I wouldn't mind.)
But just to motivate myself - here are some pictures I took from my window the other day. Being in Melbourne, you don't get to see much lightning. And when you do, its bound to be a spectacle.
Looks like God had some fun doing some light painting :)
Best,
Elyas.

The Canon EOS Photo5, part deux.
And so the Canon EOS Photo5 came and went. Unfortunately, I was not short-listed, but the experience was amazing. Would certainly join something like this again. It gave me a few shots that I would certainly include as a series to my growing portfolio. It also gave me a few ideas for new projects and collaborations. (Yes, am waiting for your pics Norman Tang!)
Anyway, without further adieu, I present my other four submissions. (First one was here)
Thank you Dmitriy Ozerov, Adarsh Man Serchan and Lindsey Abot.
Alone In The Dark (Low Light x Sequins)
Funny way of powdering your nose, dear. (Fast Shutter x Powder)
Ode to Nepal. (Was flagged as inappropriate, taken down)
Come fly with me. (Panning x Ribbon)
