If you go down this way...(Flinders St, 2012)

Shot with the Canon 300mm L f4 lens on Flinders Street, Melbourne

Initially wanted to do a diptych, but it looks better on its own, with its twin of course ;)

Hope you like them

Best,

Elyas

Portrait - The Kuey Teow (flat noodles) Aunty

Keep Calm and Smile. (Kelana Jaya, 2013) - All rights reserved.

Am back in Kuala Lumpur for the 13th General Election. And what an election it was. At the end of the bickering day, one side had to win and one had to concede (much to the amusement of the urban community  of the nation). The following day I had fried char key teow (flat) noodles for lunch at this famous stall nearby. This lady has been selling it since I was a little boy, and it still tastes the same! As I was enjoying my plate of goodness, she took the seat across me, sat down, lit a cigarette while waiting for her next order.

I had to photograph her in her element, and even managed to get a toothless smile from her. I guess what I am trying to say in the end is that despite the electoral result, what Malaysians have to do is to keep calm, smile, and carry on. Because that is who we are as a nation.

God bless,
E.

My family

During a short trip back home recently for a religious celebration, I set out to photograph my family in their element. My father, the retired army officer, always prim and proper. My mother, cheeky and always up for a laugh. My sister and my brother in law, drained with the antics of my energetic nephew :p

We're a weird bunch, and I love them for it.
